KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 7, 2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Consider the appointment of Ms. Maureen Rust to <br />the Kittitas County Library Advisory Board. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: As of December 31, 2016 the Member At Large <br />position became vacant. On November 21, 2016 <br />Staff received an application from Maureen Rust <br />expressing interest in volunteering as the Member <br />At Large position on the Kittitas County Library <br />Advisory Board. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Staff received a letter on January 27, 2017 from <br />Jane Agar, City of Cle Elum Librarian asking the <br />Board of County Commissioners to consider <br />appointing Ms. Rust for the vacant Member At <br />Large Position. According to the Bylaws this <br />member of the Board will be appointed for a <br />staggered 3 year term and limited to 2 consecutive <br />terms. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Maureen Rust to the Kittitas County <br />Regional Library Advisory Board for the member <br />At Large position for a staggered 3 year term. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Staff to notify the applicant and the Chair of the <br />Library Advisory Board of the Commissioners <br />decision as well as update the County Website. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Letter from Jane Agar <br /> Application from Maureen Rust <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board
