KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: January 17, 2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Sale at Fair <br />Market Value of a Retired Duty Weapon to a Sheriff’s Deputy. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff has determined that certain firearms <br />owned by his Office should be retired and replaced. KCC 2.81.080(5) allows for the sale <br />of retired duty weapons to Sheriff’s deputies. The fair market value of each retired duty <br />weapon will be determined by a licensed firearms dealer. All funds resulting from the <br />sale of these firearms, less that portion retained by the dealer, shall be used by the <br />Sheriff’s Office as directed by KCC 2.81.040(4). <br /> <br />INTERACTION: This resolution was reviewed and approved by the Kittitas County <br />Prosecutor’s Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Sale at Fair <br />Market Value of a Retired Duty Weapon to a Sheriff’s Deputy. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Please return one copy of the completed Resolution to KCSO for our <br />records. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Sgt.
