08/24/2026 MINUTES 2 <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz moved to approve and ratify Chair signature <br />on a letter of support for Hopesource Transportation Services. <br />Chairman Wachsmith seconded. Motion carried 2-0. <br /> DISCUSSION I-90 SNOQUALMIE PASS CLOSURE CDS <br />CDS Director Chad Bala and CDS Planner I Bradley Gasawski requested <br />the Board’s signature on a letter to the U.S. Forest Service seeking <br />clarification regarding the scope and adequacy of the proposed <br />action to close portions of Interstate 90, including the associated <br />public comment period for the proposed closures. The Board asked <br />Staff to place it on the upcoming IT Study Session meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2026 <br />were determined during a Board of County Commissioners Office Admin <br />meeting and they will continue to provide updates at future <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective <br />departments and exchanged details of those meetings. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES – In addition to, general updates on <br />meetings & conversations that the Board participated in, <br />individually, over the past week. <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz asked whether any changes had been made to <br />the Public Works supervisor roles and requested clarification <br />regarding reporting relationships. The Board will work with Public <br />Works Director Josh Fredrickson to clearly define the direct <br />supervisory structure. <br /> <br />Office Administrator Jodi Larsen provided an update on the potential <br />use of the Sheriff’s Substation for remote work on Wednesdays. Jodi <br />explained that there are several scheduled meetings that continually <br />conflict with this. The Board agreed that the use of Webex for <br />meetings whenever feasible is acceptable.
