Deposit fees in general,fund-Allocation for boating safety and education and law enforcement purposes- <br />) General fees forvessel registrations collected by the director must be deposited in the generalfund-Except as provided in <br />n (2) of this section,any amount above one million one hundred thousand dollars per fiscal year must be allocated to counties bY <br />the for boating safety/ed u cation and law enfo rcement pro g rams.Eligibility for boating safety/education and law enforcement <br />program is contingent upon approvalof the local boating safety program by the state parks and recreation commission. Fund <br />must be based on the numbers of registered vessels by county of moorage. Each benefiting countY is responsible for equitable <br />of such allocation to other jurisdictions with approved boating safety programs within the county. Any fees not allocated to <br />counties due to the absence of an approved boating safety program must be allocated to the state parks and recreation commission for <br />awards local govemments to offset law enforcement and boating safety impacts of boaters recreating in jurisdictions other than where <br />regr Jurisdictions receiving funds under this section shall deposit the funds into an account dedicated solely for supporting the <br />jurisd boating safety programs. These funds may not replace existing localfunds used for boating safety programs' <br />During the 2015-2017 fiscal biennium, if 2015 "E ngrossed Senate BiII No. 5416 is enacted before August 1,2O15, any amount <br />above million three hundred fifty thousand dollars per fiscal year must be allocated to counties by the state treasurer for boating safety, <br />, and law enforcement programs. <br />What is purpose of boating safety program approval? <br />purpose of boating safety program approval is to establish a process to review and approve local boating safety programs and <br />to make avaitable to local govemments to support their boating safety education,information, and law enforcement activities and to <br />offset boater impacts. <br />wAc <br />minimum requirements necessary to obtain boating safety program approval are as follows: <br />( <br />Updabd 1 <br />) Boating accident reporting and investigation.
