Officers/deputies who have completed equivalent <br />training may_be approved by the sfATE PARKS Director or designee <br />Officer/Deputy Training Required; AGENCY agrees to ensure that all officers/ deputies <br />involved in the recreational boating safety program attend the Washington State Basic Marine <br />Law Enforcement Training course. STATE PARKS may decide to provide this training at no <br />charge to AGENCY. Only officers/deputies that have attended this training will be considered <br />trained. The AGENCY recognizes lhe NationalAssociation of Boating Law Administrators' <br />Boating Crewmember Course or the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers' Marine Law <br />Enforcement Training Program as an equivalent course. Officers/deputies may attend an <br />alternative and equivalent course with prior written STATE PARKS approval' <br />New programs, Officers/Deputies, Must Acquire Training Within One Year: AGENCY <br />agrees to acquire required training for officers/deputies within one year of becoming an <br />approved program, and within one year for each newly assigned boating safety officer/deputy <br />Training Gurrency: AGENCY must submit a BOAT Currency Requirements Report Web Form <br />for all active personnel listed on the roster submitted with the 4-299 Web Form by October 15 <br />each year. tirese reports must be submitted at least annually but may be updated throughout <br />the year. If AGENCY feels that they will be unabte to complete alltraining tasks required, it shall <br />submit a statement of exptanation to the Marine Law Enforcement Coordinator. <br />Document Additional Training: AGENCY agrees to list on the 4-299 form any additional <br />training courses its personnel have completed' <br />Vessels and Equipment: AGENCY agrees to acquire and make available the necessary <br />boating safety patrol equipment, including vessels capable of serving the minimum <br />requirementgoutlined in tiris agreement. Patrolvessels must be properly marked and properly <br />equipped as provided in chapter 88.02 RCW and chapter 352-60 WAC. <br />Updated fim2025
