<br />2026-06-22 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />IT STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />MONDAY 11:00 AM June 22, 2026 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith, and <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz <br />Others: Deputy Prosecutor III James McCubbin, IT Director Interim Zane Kinney, <br />Infrastructure Manager Bill Davis, Administrative Assistant Grant Shimada <br />Call to Order – 11:00 a.m. <br />Citizen Comments – There were no citizen comments. <br /> <br />IT Department Stabilization, Requesting Board Direction <br />IT Director Interim Zane Kinney discussed some of the major projects the department is working <br />on with a request to the Board for direction on prioritization. The Board directed Mr. Kinney and <br />Mr. Davis to continue working through their queue using the department’s normal procedures. <br />Executive Session <br />At 11:36 a.m., Chairman Wright announced the Board would recess into an executive session for 13 <br />minutes with Zane Kinney, IT Director Interim, James McCubbin, Deputy Prosecutor III, Bill Davis, IT <br />Infrastructure Manager, and Grant Shimada, IT Administrative Assistant under RCW 42.30.110(a)(i) To <br />consider matters affecting national security; (ii) To consider, if in compliance with any required <br />data security breach disclosure under RCW 9.255.010 and 42.56.590, and with legal counsel <br />available, information regarding the infrastructure and security of computer and <br />telecommunications networks, security and service recovery plans, security risk assessments and <br />security test results to the extent that they identify specific system vulnerabilities, and other <br />information that if made public may increase the risk to the confidentiality, integrity, or <br />availability of agency security or to information technology infrastructure or assets. No action was <br />anticipated. <br />At 11:49 a.m., the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No action was taken. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Deputy Prosecutor III James McCubbin informed the Board and the IT department that an IT <br />employment sheet had a typo for the salary section. The BoCC will correct this and send out a <br />public statement for this correction. <br />
