BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - <br /> <br />AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE BOWERS FIELD HANGAR TAXILANE <br />COMPLEX PROJECT AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO <br />EXECUTE THE SAME <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The call for sealed bids supporting the Bowers Field Hangar Taxilane Complex <br />Project was authorized by the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners on April <br />27, 2026; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works solicited bids in accordance with RCW <br />36.77.020 Contract Procedures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Sealed bids were received and opened on May 21, 2026, at 10:00 am; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: There were six (6) bids received and accepted for review; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The lowest responsive bid was Western Excavating Inc. in the amount of <br />$641,883.27; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has programed grant funding for this <br />project and provided concurrence to award; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Public Works Director recommends the lowest responsive bid be accepted; <br />and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners finds it in <br />the best interest of the County to award the Contract for the Bowers Field Hangar <br />Taxilane Complex Project to Western Excavating Inc.; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director is authorized to sign contract <br />documents for said project. <br /> <br />DATED on this 22nd day of June 2026, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br /> <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> __________________________ <br /> Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Attest: <br />☐ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik __________________________ <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br />☐ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz ___________________________ <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />______________________________
