BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026 -_____ <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT TYPE 3 <br />COMPETITIVE GRANT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT THE SAME <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County has jurisdiction of one hundred thirteen (113) bridges in the <br />National Bridge Inventory (NBI); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Highway Administration <br />(FHWA) administers the Type 3 Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation <br />Competitive Grant Program, also knows as the Bridge Improvements Type 3 <br />(BIT3) Competitive Grant Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works intends to submit a Bridge Improvements Type 3 <br />Grant Application; <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Bridge Improvement Type 3 (BIT3) Application requires that funding <br />applicants have Chair Authorization identifying Authorization to the Kittitas <br />County Public Works Director on behalf of Kittitas County for grant application <br />submittal. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners declares it be in the best interest of the public and does hereby authorize the <br />Public Works Director to sign and submit the BIT3 grant application. <br /> <br />DATED this 7th day of July 2026, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> ________________________________ <br /> Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Attest: <br /> <br />☐ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik ________________________________ <br />Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br />☐ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br /> _______________________________ ________________________________ <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />
