Page 1 of 1 <br />Information Technology “Study Session Staff Report”, 11/24/2025 <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STAFF REPORT FOR <br />STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />Information Technology <br /> <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: 11/24/25 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Request to Approve the Granicus Renewal Contract for SmartGov <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approval and Signature <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Assistant IT Director Zane Kinney & Finance Director Zack DeHaven <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The IT department is recommending for the approval and signing of the Granicus <br />renewal contract for SmartGov. <br /> <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />The CDS department has exceeded their user license limit and been requested by the <br />vendor, Granicus, to resolve this by the end of the year. Granicus has sent over a contract <br />for an unlimited user plan that increases the current amount by $10k for a total of $60k <br />annually. Assistant IT Director Zane Kinney and Finance Director Zack DeHaven have <br />discussed and approved this increase. IT’s legal counselor, Therese Murphy, has <br />reviewed and greenlit this contract. <br /> <br />The IT department is requesting for the BoCC to review and sign the contract for the <br />renewal of SmartGov. The new contract price will take effect when the new term begins <br />on April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />SmartGov is a cloud-based license and permit management software, owned and sold by <br />Granicus, that provides organizational benefits for permits, licensing, code enforcement, <br />and inspections. This is a software that is utilized by several County departments. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />Increase of $10k for a total of $60k annually. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Granicus SmartGov Contract <br /> <br />Legal consultation?
