KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STAFF REPORT FOR <br />STUDY SESSION <br />Public Health Office <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: 5/27/26 <br />TOPIC: Human Services Committee Updates <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Information Only <br />LEAD STAFF: Kasey Knutson, Human Services Manager <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />No recommendation — information only <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />• In January, Human Services requested approval for Robin H Read Consulting for the <br />creation and update of plans for the advisory committees that Human Services oversees. <br />• Plans and updates include a new strategic plan for the mental health and substance use <br />disorder prevention funding, update to the required biennial Kittitas County Plan for <br />Developmental Disabilities, and an action/implementation plan to dovetail with the 2025- <br />2030 Local Homeless Plan for Kittitas County. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Plans that fall within the Human Services division include the 2025-2030 Local Homeless Plan <br />for Kittitas County, the biennial Kittitas County Plan for Developmental Disabilities, which are <br />either required by funding or by contract to have those completed. With local tax for behavioral <br />health, we want to ensure there is also a strategic plan in place to show county goals, objectives, <br />etcetera. These plans are reviewed and approved by the Board of County Commissioners. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Update attached.
