BOCC Public Health Study Session <br />Committee Updates <br />1/10 of 1 % Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax Advisory Board <br />Interviews of committee members were conducted: <br />• Committee members have a strong combination of personal and professional lived <br />experience with behavioral health. <br />• Participation in the committee is out of a desire to be involved in the community and <br />make a difference in this issue. <br />• The programs funded by the 1/10 dollars are what are going well in the community. <br />• There are lots of resources available in the community, however more are needed: <br />outreach, prevention, direct services, auxiliary services like housing. <br />• Youth prevention and SUD are urgent issues needed attention. <br />■ Increased community awareness, decreased stigma, more youth prevention, and <br />reduction in duplication of services are what the committee hopes to change over <br />the next few years. <br />3/2026 Meeting <br />• Reviewed strategic planning process and timeline <br />• Reviewed other county's behavioral health plans <br />■ Presented Behavioral Health Assessment data <br />4/2026 Meeting <br />• Worked on draft vision statement <br />• Discussed mission <br />Brainstormed core values <br />Next Steps <br />■ Committee members have a survey to provide more feedback about draft vision, <br />mission, and values and also to brainstorm new potential names for the committee <br />• May meeting: continue to work on vision, mission, and values. Conduct situational <br />analysis (similar to a SWOT). <br />
