Kittitas County I Snoqualmie Pass ComprehensWe Safety Plan 34
Volume I Speed Trends
In addition to reviewing collision data,
the project team analyzed traffic volume
and speed data to better understand
current roadway conditions and evaluate
how capaciry constraints may affect
the performance and safety of the
transportation network in Snoqualmie
Pass.
Traffic volume and speed data were collected
at multiple locations throughout Snoqualmie
Pass to evaluate roadway and intersection
performance. Tube counters were installed at
midblock locations along SR 906, while turning
movement counts (TMCs) were collected at
key intersections. Data was collected in two
periods to capture seasonal travel patterns:
October 16th to 27st,2O24, and February 14th
to 17th, 2025 (Presidents' Dayweekend). The
October data provided a baseline for non-winter
conditions while the February data captured
winter conditions during expected peak winter
activity. Field observations were also made on
December 37st,2024 and January !st,2025 to
review conditions during the busy winter holiday
season. Figure 19 shows the locations where
tube counters and TMC cameras were installed.
I
Iw
+b
,*.oci
9
o
o
Ial'
^o.'U
\c'
of
--.1
9.
nq
9ro
.at-
I
I
I
I
I
l
I
I
)
I
I
I
I
. o,* ^e^1o o-Cc" ^t.-rc b..\- e
{@
r.tk
lanner
qot^
,%
a
ca
ee
t
/_
Lake
\\\t\'Garrnisc.h p1\, lron Horse
I
I
I
I
Q(
Figure 19.
