From: yyonnerhds(c aol.com
To: Jeremy Johnston
Cc: Laura Osiadacz
Subject: Re: Easton,WA."Town Group"
Date: Friday,April 10,2026 3:34:20 PM
CAUTION: This email originated from outside the Kittitas County network. Do not click
links, open attachments, fulfill requests, or follow guidance unless you recognize the sender
and have verified the content is safe.
Mr. Johnston,
I'm writing to you today in regard to the actions of this "Town Group" who has been
hosting meetings and also providing input to the County on the new Easton Subarea
plan.
First and foremost, My Husband & I have "NOT" at any time given this group
permission to speak for Us. Verbiage on page 12 section 1.6, "Build One Voice", I
would like to make it Crystal Clear, That No One at any time has been authorized to
speak for Myself or My Husband. WE reserve the right to work Directly with our
Elected Commissioner and Relevant County Officials "At All Times"!
We would also like to state that we do Not want "Public Restrooms" in Easton as per
page 28 section 4.4, we request that this be removed. Suggestion would be for a Rest
Area to be put up along the Hwy between Easton & Issaquah. Not in a Small Town.
Rest Areas tend to bring in unwanted issues, such as Drugs, Homeless, Trafficking
etc...
Page 29 Section 4.5 contains "A Day Use Area or Recreation Hub along Railroad
Street". We are also against this. There is not a need for a day use area, as the State
Park is right there off of the Hwy. We do not need another recreation area. There are
other matters/issues that should be taken care of long before any of these should be
under consideration. For instance, Traffic, Speeding, Garbage/Trash along the Hwy
left by travelers & truck drivers. It's absolutely disgusting to see what is left behind
and for the length of time it'll sit there! We volunteer with our neighbor John Jensen
to pick up all the trash along Easton's roads and it's truly astonishing that people think
it's okay to just through their trash on the roads. We have people who reside here that
think it's ok to through their cigarette butts out of their windows!!
Page 31 Recommended actions EA-5.1 Neither My husband nor Myself care to see
sidewalks in this small town. We are out walking several times a day and have to say,
we feel safe, outside of a few who feel the need to speed. Sidewalk's, Street Lights
would take away from the small town feel & look. If people want City style living, they
should go there then. We moved to this area, because it's a small community. We
don't have to deal with the every day nonsense the cities deal with. Being a small
community, you get to know your neighbors, we all look out for one another, we watch
over each others homes, etc.. You start bringing in (page 41-48) Warehouses, big
corporations, hotels etc.. you're taking away from the small town feel & look. You take
away from the History of the town. You bring in more riffraff, crime etc. We don't want
that here. We moved here to retire, enjoy what years we have left. We did not move
