From: Jen Peterson
To: Jeremy Johnston
Cc: Laura Osiadacz
Subject: Feedback on the Easton Subarea Plan
Date: Thursday,April 9,2026 10:17:37 AM
CAUTION: This email originated from outside the Kittitas County network. Do not click
links, open attachments, fulfill requests, or follow guidance unless you recognize the sender
and have verified the content is safe.
Dear Jeremy Johnston& Laura Osiadacz,
I am writing to share feedback on the Easton Subarea Plan.
As the Owner of Peterson's Fuel, I would like to express concerns regarding the inclusion of
public rest stop areas and restroom infrastructure in the plan. Based on our experience, these
types of facilities can lead to increased crime and drug use, particularly during nighttime
hours. As a business owner and a parent of a teenage daughter, this raises serious safety
concerns for our family and the surrounding community.
Additionally,we are not in favor of adding sidewalks along Railroad Street. Our business
regularly accommodates larger vehicles, including trucks and trailers, and the addition
of sidewalks would interfere with our ability to safely and efficiently serve these customers.
We also do not support the addition of street lights along Railroad Street, as many residents
live in close proximity and are concerned about light pollution and its impact on their homes
and quality of life.
Furthermore, we would like it clearly stated that we wish to represent our own views and not
be represented by any single group claiming to speak on behalf of the entire Easton
community. We do not feel that all perspectives are aligned, and we value maintaining the
ability to communicate directly with county officials.
That said,we would support a skate park or some activity for the teens and children of Easton,
as this would bring a sense of community.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide input and ask that our concerns and preferences
be taken into consideration as the plan is finalized.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Jen Peterson
Owner/Billing/Media
Peterson's World Wide
Cell: 206-819-0637
