From: Ashley Mankus
To: Jeremy Johnston
Subject: Easton Town
Date: Monday,April 6,2026 10:01:32 PM
CAUTION: This email originated from outside the Kittitas County network. Do not click
links, open attachments, fulfill requests, or follow guidance unless you recognize the sender
and have verified the content is safe.
Hi there,
I am writing this email to you in regards to Easton, Washington. I have lived here since 2017
and raise my two kids who go to Easton School. My grandparents Lawrence (90 years old)
and Bernice Graham(91 years old) who live on Railroad street in Easton do not have internet
or email address. So they asked me to include them on this email. We all do not want a group
to be representing Easton, WA. There never has been a group to represent Easton and we sure
do not need one now. We are happy with our county and town the way it is. The verbiage on
page 12, section 1.6, "Build one voice" is what we are referring too.
We do not need public restrooms in Easton. There's a state park already and that Infrastructure
is already there. Including iorn horse palouse to cascade trail restrooms. Why would we need
more restrooms?Public restrooms are also mentioned as a goal on page 31, section 5.4, and
more.
Page 29, section 4.5, also contains "a day-use area or recreation hub along Railroad
Street." Absolutely no. Grandma and grandpa laughed at this one.
The town group has also submitted suggestion/comment that they would like to see sewer
systems and sidewalks in town. Being on railroad street the main road in Easton my
grandparents live at 1791. Having sidewalks would make it very difficult for them to park at
their home. They're old. Also the snow and plows are really damaging to sidewalks. Would
they make home owners purchase these said side walks or to have to switch to sewer? Old
people who have lived here for 70 years cannot afford to make all these changes. You would
be pushing out old residents. We are not sure why this group is trying to change Easton. We
do not want restrooms, sidewalks, or light poles. Keep it country and old.
The county is not pushing these infrastructure changes on their own; it is a community
feedback led project. There's never been a mayor or Easton and we do not need a 5 0 1 c group
trying to represent us either.
Thank you for your time,
Ashley Mankus
509-304-5443
Lawrence Graham
509-961-4519
Bernice Graham
509-388-7229
