From: Dalton Walser
To: Jeremy Johnston
Cc: Laura Osiadacz
Subject: Easton Subarea Plan
Date: Monday,April 6,2026 11:03:18 PM
CAUTION:This email originated from outside the Kittitas County network.Do not click links, open attachments,
fulfill requests,or follow guidance unless you recognize the sender and have verified the content is safe.
Hello Jeremy,
I am writing to you as a concerned resident of Easton. At no point have I asked for a group to be formed to be a
voice for Easton.I believe this group is trying to bring the west side of the state into our small little town that the
majority of the residents love and don't want to see change in the way this group is saying that we want it to.
The verbiage on page 13,section 1.6 stating"build one voice"needs to be removed.I am very capable of being my
own voice and don't wish to be represented by any group.I reserve my right to work directly with my elected
commissioner and relevant county officials at all times.
I also believe that"restroom infrastructure for visitors"under page 28,section 4.4 should be removed. There is no
need for public restrooms in our small town. When we have events such as the Memorial Day parade there is no
issue with porta potties. The extra cost to the residents of Easton is not something any of us
The"day-use area or recreation hub along Railroad Street"as mentioned on page 28,section 4.5 is also unnecessary.
There are plenty of areas for recreation. If people want a full blown park type setting then go somewhere with a
park.Again this is going to place an undue financial burden on Easton residents like myself.
Also the request for sewer systems and sidewalks in town is just ridiculous. Septic systems have worked just fine for
years. The amount of money it would cost the residents to put in sewer is astronomical and not wanted by the
majority of Easton residents like myself. With that the cost of sidewalks is very expensive. Then there is the extra
burden of clearing said sidewalks from snowfall and that extra cost. There is no need for sidewalks in our small
town!
As a resident I much prefer not having streetlights. Not only does it allow that small town feel but just the relaxing
feeling.
Like stated previously this group is trying to make our small town into a west side town. This is not what the
majority of Easton residents such as myself want.I would urge that we keep Easton the small town it is.If those
from this group want the amenities of a big town then they can move to a big town.
Thank you for your time,
Dalton Walser
A concerned Easton resident
