There are many areas of this
plan that we are concerned about. We have been residents in Easton for 39 years, and we care
about the future of this town.
It is troubling that a small group of people wants to be the "One Voice" for all of the Easton
residents. This verbiage should be removed as these strangers do not need to speak for us.
This is on page 12, section 1.6, "Build one voice."
Per section 4.4 on page 28, the subarea plan is promoting revitalization along Railroad Street.
We do not support a recreation hub, enhanced trails or public restrooms. Having lived in
Easton for many years, we do not see any need for sidewalks, benches, lighting, or a sewer
system. All of these things are going to need to be maintained which means another reason for
raising our taxes. We are already being taxed out of this state.
Next on the list is a pedestrian walkway over I-90. You've got to be kidding me. This would
be a total waste of taxpayer dollars and would most likely rarely be used. And constructing a
noise barrier wall along Railroad St and I-90 as noted on page 34, section 6.4, falls into the
same category. Totally unnecessary. The people who live here have chosen to live here
knowing that the town of Easton is located on I-90. The noise level has not changed.
In conclusion, most of the people who choose to live in Easton would like for it to remain a
small quiet town- that's why we live here. Interesting that people from big cities move here to
get out of the city, but then want to turn our town into what it was that they just left with all
the amenities.
We appreciate you taking time to listen to the individuals in Easton, and hope that you will
