3} Potential for a Community sewer/ LOSS Septic system .
We appreciate the feedback and hope there is a path to find enough common ground
among the residents of Easton to moue the subarea plan forward for BOCC consideration .
I in an ef#ort to explore this possibility, and i n recognition of these recent comments, C DS i s
proposing some possible changes to consider, addressing the three concerns noted above.
Possible Revisions
1 ) A desire to not be by one Communfty.GroUD serving as "one_ voice" for
Easton •
CDS proposes removing this reference. While this statement dogs not in any way [unit a
community members ability to state their concerns personally or collectively to an elected
official, recent comments have made clear that "or e voice " may not be an accurate or
achievable reality.
2] Concerns regarding,potentiat i nf rastru ctu re u pgradesin L ite
such as sidewa [[cs, day use areas, and public restrooms .
Section 2. 4 of the proposed plan includes a policy calling for a revitalization plan (EP 7 . 0). It
is clear that this community will require more conversations regarding the specifics of what
is meant by "revitalization. -" In recognition of the need for this conversation, CDS is
recommending removing all goat and policy references to specific possible
upgrades/additions (e. g. sidewalks, lighting, day use areas, etc.) to be determined later in a
community driven reUitalizatran play. This re vita lizatlon plan can be created, n ego tlated,
and adopted under any format or process the community deems fit.
3) Potential for a community sewer/LOSS septic system.
Currently there is no policy or goal within the plan indicating an intention to establish either
of these. There is a " recommended action" on page 20 of the draft plan that states,
"Consult with local septic and water experts to understand development limitations" This
could be removed if it is sticking point, but the action describes a fact-finding process and
not an intention to develop one of these systems .
Many of the references to this concern in the comment letters we received cite pages
toward the end of the plan that are simply feedback we received in our community
engagement effor#s . These references will remain in the Alan's "Summary of Input" section
(6. 3) or "Append ix" (8. a) , as part of the official record , but are not included among the goals
or policies of the plan .
