Page 5
Agpendix F. Land CavacLty Analysis.
While we appreciate that critical areas were mapped and the resulting area was removed from the
analysis, it is uncertain if all Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas (FWHCA)were
included. In addition to streams and their associated Riparian Management Zones (RMZ) that are
shown on the maps, additional FWHCA should be mapped including all WDFW Priority Habitat
and Species mapping including shrubsteppe and Biodiversity Areas and Corridors. These are not
currently included in Kittitas County Compas mapping, and we would like to clarify if they were
included in this analysis. Further, the two maps included in the appendix only show areas around
the existing jurisdictions of Roslyn, Cle Elum South Cle Elum, Ellensburg and Kittitas. We
recommend including a map that shows the analysis at the county scale to be able to review and
comment on unincorporated county areas.
Thank you again for the opportunity to comment. Please contact me at 509-607-3578 or
Scott.Downes@dfw.wa.gov to set up a time to discuss these comments.
Sincerely,
Scott Downes
Regional Land Use Lead
