Thank You
The Washington State Department of Transportation
(WSDOT) acknowledges the efforts of Kittitas County in
addressing safety concerns on Snoqualmie Pass and State
Route 906 through the preparation of this Comprehensive
Safety Action Plan (CSAP) and the proposed improvements
it contains. WSDOT supports safety improvements
within this corridor. There is currently no funding for the
improvements described in the CSAP, and it would require
state or federal legislative action.
Additionally, any proposed improvements within the state
highway right-of-way are subject to WSDOT’s planning,
environmental, and design processes, which may result in
preferred alternatives different from those proposed in this
plan. Lastly, future commercial, residential, and recreational
development in this area has the potential to decrease
the effectiveness of any proposed improvements. Land
use proposals in this area should be carefully considered
prior to approval. In summary, WSDOT supports this
CSAP conceptually. However, funding, WSDOT processes,
and future development may have an impact on the
improvements proposed in the plan.
Brian White
Regional Administrator
WSDOT South Central Region
Thank You
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)
acknowledges the efforts of Kittitas County in addressing safety
concerns on Snoqualmie Pass and State Route 906 through the
preparation of this Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) and
the proposed improvements it contains.
