Attachment D
WORK PLAN
FY 2024 Emergency Management Performance Grant
The purpose of this attachment is to identify the activities planned by the Subrecipient under this Grant
Agreement, funded by EMPG and required match funding, and subsequently approved as allowable under
EMPG by the EMPG Program Manager.
AEmergency Management Organization I<ittitas County Sheriff's Office
PROJECT #1 TITLE FLevel 3 dfire Evacuation Road Barriers with Signs WilT
PROJECT' DESCRIPTION
_ . _ _.._ - _ _ ___.._ _ _ ...__ _.._ .._. --
This project will fund the purchase and deployment of durable, high -visibility Level 3 wildfire evacuation road closure
barriers with signage that can be quickly deployed at strategic roadway access points during wildfire incidents to halt
pedestrian or vehicle -borne traffic. The signs and barriers will clearly indicate that a roadway is closed due to Level 3
evacuation orders and active fire operations, helping prevent unauthorized entry into hazardous areas. The signs and
barriers will be designed to be easily readable from a distance, reflective for nighttime visibility, and portable so that
first responders can rapidly install them as evacuation zones expand or shift.
OUTCOME
e desired outcome of the project is to increase public awareness and compliance with evacuation orders, reducing
the likelihood of residents or visitors attempting to travel into active fire zones. By clearly marking closed roads, these
barriers with signs will also enhance first responder safety, allowing firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency
personnel to focus on evacuation operations and fire suppression rather than repeatedly redirecting traffic.
DHS-FEMA-EMPG-FY24 Page 41 of 44 Kittitas County, E25-254
