Phase 2: Integrating Community Input
After analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, the project team
returned to the community to share preliminary results and confirm
that public input had been accurately reflected. This was done through
a two-part public meeting featuring an open house and a formal
presentation.
The open house included a series of
informational and interactive boards.
Informational boards explained the purpose of
the CSAP, summarized key safety and traffic
findings, and highlighted community input
from the online survey and interactive map.
Interactive activity boards invited participants
to provide feedback on potential action items
and location-specific safety countermeasures
across the Snoqualmie Pass study area.
Attendees could write comments directly on the
boards, allowing for real-time input (Figure 6).
Following the open house, a presentation
was delivered outlining the CSAP process,
completed analyses, examples of proven safety
strategies, and next steps.
For a detailed overview of the community
meeting and the feedback received from
participants, see Appendix D.
What We Heard
Each phase of engagement offered opportunities for
community members and stakeholders to share their
firsthand experiences and transportation concerns.
These insights helped identify challenges that may not
be captured through data alone, such as near-misses,
seasonal safety issues, and barriers to safely walking,
biking, or driving in Snoqualmie Pass.
The online survey, interactive map, and public meeting
provided complementary ways community members
could express concerns, react to findings, and weigh in on
potential strategies.
Several themes consistently emerged across
all engagement activities, highlighting the
community’s top transportation safety and
capacity concerns, as shown on the next page.
Figure 6.
