KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS – BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: April 27, 2026 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Hungry Junction Road Project Civil Engineering <br />Design Task Order with current On-Call <br />Consultant <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Direct Staff Prepare Enabling Documents for <br />Task Order with On-call Consultant <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Josh Fredrickson <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Direct staff prepare enabling documents for task order with on-call consultant <br /> <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br /> County Road Administration Board has provided funding for improvement of <br />Hungry Junction Road <br /> Road improvement design has been initiated by Public Works <br /> Consultant services are needed to advance the design to completion <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Kittitas County was awarded funds through the County Road Administration Board <br />(CRAB) Rural Arterial Program (RAP) for the design and construction of road <br />improvements on Hungry Junction Road. The design of the improvements includes a <br />structure replacement at the intersection of Hungry Junction and Faust Road, as well as <br />widening and improving the existing vertical curves on the roadway between Highway 97 <br />and Reecer Creek Road. <br /> <br />Public Works staff have been leading the design efforts of the project including project <br />management and civil design. Consultant services are needed to advance the design to <br />completion. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Public Works previously solicited proposals and selected on-call civil support and <br />selected Ardurra Group Inc. as an on-call consultant. Public Works has requested a scope <br />and fee from Ardurra Group, Inc., for design and construction support for the project. The <br />task order amount proposed is for $315,000.00 and Ardurra would be under contract
