Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event.*
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project.*
For more than a century, the Ellensburg Rodeo has stood as a hallmark of originality, cultural vitality, and Western tradition in the
Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1923, it has evolved into one of America’s Top professional rodeos, attracting world-class
competitors and visitors from across the globe. Its blend of authentic heritage and forward-thinking programming makes it unlike
any other event in Washington State.
The Rodeo offers an immersive experience that celebrates the spirit of the West while embracing modern creativity. From heart-
pounding PRCA competitions—bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc, and more—to live music, artisan marketplaces, and
behind-the-chutes tours, every detail is designed to engage and inspire. Signature attractions like the “Rockin’ the Chutes”
concert and the vibrant Ellensburg Rodeo parade on Saturday amplify its appeal, fusing small-town hospitality with big-stage
entertainment.
What truly sets the Ellensburg Rodeo apart is its deep connection to place. It honors the region’s ranching roots, Yakama Nation
traditions, and Kittitas Valley’s agricultural legacy while presenting them through innovative, guest-centered programming.
Generations of volunteers’ curate a welcoming environment where attendees don’t just watch history—they become part of it.
This rare combination of authenticity, creativity, and immersive fun leaves a lasting impression on spectators and participants
alike. The Ellensburg Rodeo is more than an event; it is a living cultural landmark, bringing people together to celebrate the
American West in a way that is fresh, memorable, and distinctly Ellensburg.
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dfpmr1hj1r8mqftbahiwz/ELLENSBURG-OPENER-2025.mp4?
rlkey=d9ue545be87kt40zh7qmnta4o&st=l8wzdcb8&dl=0
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816.
