Response 4.2: Describe how you will promote lodging establishments, restaurants, and business located in Kittitas County *
Response 4.3: Is there a host hotel for your event or grant project? If yes, list the hotel.*
5| Future Plans
The Kittitas County Historical Museum actively promotes local lodging, restaurants, and businesses through exhibits, programs,
events, and collaborations that engage both residents and visitors. Our Business Room exhibit, a 2,400-square-foot space plus
an additional 600-square-foot area, highlights the history of local businesses past and present. These displays are regularly
updated, providing opportunities to feature current businesses and encourage tourism within the County.
Throughout the year, our special exhibits, programs, and events integrate local business promotion. We co-market these
initiatives with non-profits and businesses, increasing exposure for all partners. Local businesses are featured in virtual lectures,
social media “Did You Know” posts, videos, newsletters, and on our website through links and resources that encourage visitors
to plan trips and stay locally. Our downtown walking tours and scavenger hunts also highlight local businesses as part of visitor
experiences.
We collaborate with businesses to preserve their histories through exhibits, research, photographs, and storytelling, which
simultaneously promotes the business and Museum. Offsite displays at Hotel Windrow, Puget Sound Energy, and Ida Nason
Aronica Elementary School extend these promotions to the broader community. We actively seek additional partnerships and
sponsorship opportunities to further highlight Kittitas County businesses through lectures, events, and exhibits.
Museum staff and volunteers provide word-of-mouth recommendations and print materials to guide visitors to local lodging,
restaurants, and shops. Our outreach currently engages businesses in Ellensburg, Kittitas, Cle Elum, Roslyn, and Easton,
helping ensure visitors not only experience the Museum but also support the broader local economy.
Through these integrated strategies, the Museum serves as both a cultural destination and a driver for tourism, connecting
visitors with the unique businesses and experiences that Kittitas County offers.
2500 character limit
No
Yes Hotel Windrow,
TownPlace Suites by
Marriott
