Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event.*
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project.*
Thank you for the opportunity to support the annual marketing campaign for the Washington State Ski & Snowboard Museum
(WSSSM) (www.wsssm.org). In 2026, WSSSM will build on the momentum of its 10th Anniversary Celebration & Auction
(October 30, 2025)—a milestone that boosted media attention, community presence, and donor engagement. We are leveraging
that success with refreshed exhibits, extended hours, and targeted outreach to grow attendance and impact.
Located at Snoqualmie Pass, just over the King–Kittitas County line, WSSSM is the first dedicated tourism destination in Upper
Kittitas County. In the Pass Life development between The Summit, Commonwealth restaurant, and Dru Bru brewery, the
museum is open year-round with new hours—Fridays & Saturdays 3–8 pm, Sundays 1–6 pm—making it easy to pair a mountain
adventure with an evening visit. Admission is always free.
Our small team—an Executive Director and Operations & Volunteer Coordinator—works with volunteer hosts who greet guests
and share local knowledge. Many return for one of five themed scavenger hunts, a family-friendly way to explore the collection.
Attendance is rising: in 2024 we welcomed 5,600 visitors. With new hours, January–August 2025 saw a 36.3% increase—over
5,200 already. We expect to surpass 7,000 visitors in 2025. Surveys show 97% traveled more than 50 miles, 13% from out of
state, and 12% stayed overnight—underscoring WSSSM’s tourism impact.
Exhibit quality remains a hallmark. In 2025 we expanded our Olympic Exhibit with athlete stories and interactive features
highlighting Washington’s legacy. This digital display will update in real time with the 2026 Olympics in Italy. Additions like the
“Radical Rick” mannequin in the snowboarding gallery keep exhibits fresh. Leadership also grew with a new board member from
Mervin Manufacturing, strengthening ties to the snowboard community.
Backed by 500+ donors and partners—including The Summit, Northwest Winter Sports Foundation, K2, Mervin, Ski Washington,
and Dru Bru—WSSSM is positioned for growth. If awarded funds, we will invest in digital, social, streaming, search, and select
print advertising to expand awareness, boost attendance, and build on the visibility of our Anniversary Celebration & Auction.
2026 Priorities
• Story-telling Marketing
• Exhibit Upgrades
• Regular Event Series
• Educational Programs
• New Partnerships
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://youtu.be/NSFRqpSNljU
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816.
