KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: April 7, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing for April 21, 2026, at <br />2:00 pm local time to consider a Lease with <br />Department of Natural Resources for property located <br />at the Kittitas County Airport, Bowers Field. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has <br />requested a new land lease at Bowers Field. DNR <br />originally entered into a lease with the County for Lot <br />H-1A May 11, 1977. During the time period of the <br />original lease DNR constructed improvements on the <br />site and continuously occupied the lot. Department of <br />Natural Resources desires to enter a new Lease for Lot <br />H-1A of Bowers Field. A new lease has been drafted <br />for consideration. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney’s Office; <br />Department of Natural Resources <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for April 21, 2026 to consider a <br />Lease with Department of Natural Resources for <br />County property located at Bowers Field Airport. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson <br />Public Works Director
