t <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />REsoLUroN No. rort-fr!)- <br />A RESOLUTION UPDATING THE APPLICATION FEES FOR CURRENT USE CLASSIFICATION OF FARM AND <br />AGRTCULTURAL LANDS, AND DESIGNATED FOREST LANDS <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />Kittitas County is authorized by RCW 84.34.030(2) to charge a reasonable processing fee <br />for processing applications for current use classification of farm and agricultural lands, if <br />established by the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners; and <br />Kittitas County is authorized by RCW 84.33.130(2) to charge a reasonable processing fee <br />for processing applications for classification as designated forest land, if established by <br />the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS:ln 202L, pursuant to Resolution No. 202L-L19, the Kittitas County Board of <br />Commissioners set 5400.00 as the processing fee for applications for current use <br />classification of farm and agricultural lands and classification as designated forest land; <br />and <br />WHEREAS:There has been a significant increase since 2021 in the costs (specifically staff time and <br />recording fees) of processing current use classification applications for farm and <br />agricultural lands and applications for designated forest land ; and <br />WHEREAS:The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners and Assessor have determined the actual, <br />current cost to Kittitas County of processing each application for the current use farm and <br />agriculturalclassification, and classification as designated forest land, to be Six Hundred <br />Dollars (S600.00); and <br />WHEREAS:Kittitas County strives to implement reasonable fees to minimize the impact of processing <br />permits to the taxpayer's general fund which supports more general government services; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE lT RESOLVED: the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners hereby amend <br />the fees set by Resolution 2O2t-1.I9 as follows: <br />The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners, following the recommendation of the <br />Assessor, authorize the collection of a non-refundable fee of 5600.00, to be collected at time of <br />application, for current use classification of farm and agricultural lands (as authorized by RCW <br />84.34.O3O(2)), and designated forest lands (as authorized by RCW 84.33.130(2)). This fee increase <br />shall be effective as of March 3,2026 <br />Page 1 of 2
