3.2 KCSO acknowledges that the Association has no authority over operational decisions, K9 <br />handling policies, use of force decisions, or tactical deployment. <br />3.3 KCSO will provide the Association with reasonable documentation supporting requested <br />purchases to ensure proper recordkeeping. <br />ARTICLE 4 - LIABILITY AND RISK <br />4.1 The Association is not involved in operational decisions and shall bear no liability for <br />injuries, bites, pursuits, or any law enforcement action involving the K9 Unit. <br />4.2 KCSO agrees to indemnify and hold the Association harmless from any liability arising <br />out of the use, operation and deployment of the K9 Unit. <br />4.3 Nothing in this agreement creates an employment, agency, or operational relationship <br />between the Association and KCSO. <br />ARTICLE 5 - ACCOUNTABILITY & REPORTING <br />5.1 The Association shall maintain restricted accounting for all K9-related funds. <br />5.2 KCSO shall supply reasonable documentation for major purchases (equipment, training, <br />certifications). <br />5.3 Both parties agree to maintain transparency to ensure legal compliance and donor trust. <br />6.1 This MOU becomes effective upon signature by authorized representatives of both <br />parties. <br />6.2 Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days' written notice. <br />6.3 Upon termination, remaining K9 Partners funds shall be used for final K9-related <br />expenses or transferred to KCSO for the same purpose. <br />ARTICLE 7 - SIGNATURES <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
