Interdepartmental Agreement <br />Between Kittitas County Treasurer and <br />Kittitas County Community Development Services <br />This Interdepartmental Agreement ("Agreement") is made and entered into effect <br />the l st day of September, 2025, by and between Kittitas County Treasurer ("KCT"), and <br />Kittitas County Community Development Services ("CDS"). <br />RECITALS <br />Pursuant to RCW 36.32.120(10) and KCC 18.02.030 the recording of special <br />assessments on parcels of property in Kittitas County is authorized following the abatement <br />of public nuisances; and <br />Pursuant to RCW 84.56.035, CDS is authorized to contract for the administration <br />and collection of such assessments with the County Treasurer, who is authorized to collect <br />1% of the dollar value of the special assessments as reimbursement for expenses incurred <br />by the County Assessor and County Treasurer in said administration and collection; and <br />Pursuant to RCW 84.64.050, after the expiration of three years from the date of <br />delinquency, when a property remains on the tax rolls, KCT is authorized to include in the <br />certificate of delinquency any assessments which are due on the property: and <br />KCT and CDS now desire to enter into an Interdepartmental Agreement pursuant <br />to RCW 84.56.035 to provide for the administration and collection of the special <br />assessment as defined and authorized under RCW 36.32.120(10), RCW 84.56.035, and <br />KCC 18.02.030. <br />For and in consideration of the terms, covenants and conditions set forth below, and <br />other good and valuable consideration, the adequacy and receipt of which is hereby <br />acknowledged, KCT and CDS agree as follows: <br />AGREEMENT <br />1. Term of Agreement. The term of this Agreement ("Term") shall be from <br />September I,2025 through August 31,2030. <br />2. Authorization of Special Assessment. CDS in conjunction with KC <br />Prosecutor's Office shall be responsible for the actions required to obtain a Priority Lien <br />Against Real Property and shall remit the applicable special assessment cost information <br />to KCT for the purpose of billing and collection. <br />3. Special Assessment Information. CDS in conjunction with KC <br />Prosecutor's Office shall be responsible for providing to KCT, when recording has been <br />completed, a copy of the Priority Lien Against Real Property. <br />INTERDEPARTMENTAL AGREEMENT- Page 1 of 5
