BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />WALLA WALLA COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />IN THE MATTER OF APPROVING <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN WALI.A WALLA <br />COUNTY, WASHINGTON ANDKITTITAS COUNTY, <br />WASHINGTON ." FOR THE <br />HOUSING OF INMATES <br />REsoLUloN No. 25 254 <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County owns and operates the Kittitas County Jail, located in Ellensburg, <br />Washington;and <br />WHEREAS, Walla Walla County and the law enforcement agencies within Walla Walla County <br />employ law enforcement officers who arrest persons for misdemeanors, or felonies, which may result in <br />jailing of the person arrested; and <br />WHEREAS, Walla Walla County seeks to contract for jail facilities and services from Kittitas <br />County Jailfor confinement of Walla Walla County prisoners;and <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County has expressed a willingness to provide jail tacilities and services to <br />Walla Walla County;and <br />WHEREAS, the lnterlocal Cooperation Act (RCW Chapter 39.34.0S0) and the "City and County <br />Jails Act' (RCW Chapter 70.48), authorizes contracts for jail services made between two counties; and <br />WHEREAS, the governing bodies of each of the parties hereto have determined to enter into an <br />Agreement for the housing of inmates as authorized and provided for by RCW 39.34.080 and other <br />Washington law;and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Conections recommends approval of renewing said Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Prosecuting Attorney's Ofiice and Risk Manager have reviewed said <br />Contract and recommend approval; now therefore <br />BE lT HEREBY RESOLVED by this Board of Walla Walla County Commissioners that they do <br />hereby approve and shallsign said lnterlocalAgreement between Kittitas County and Walla Walla County. <br />Passed this 18h day or} Participating <br />via other means, and by the Absent. <br />Atest: <br />Assistant ofthe Board <br />Constituting the Board of County Commissioners <br />of WallaWalla County, Washington
