COUNTY ROAD FUND 106 <br /> 2026 County Road Budget-Fund 106 <br /> Program Description: <br /> Public Works administers Fund 106(County Road)on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners. The County Road division of the Public Works Department provides <br /> for the planning,engineering and construction of improvements to the County Road network.This includes the maintenance of over 500 miles of roadway and associated <br /> right-of-way, 112 federally inventoried bridges and 148 short-span or other structures.In addition to maintenance the County Road division seeks grant funding and <br /> develops capital improvement projects.The County Roads division is also responsible for administration, accounting and right-of-way management to support these <br /> primary activities. <br /> Revenue Sources: <br /> Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax;Rea/Personal Property Tax;Other taxes;Permit Fees;Grant Opportunities. <br /> Staff Summary: <br /> Public Works employ over fifty specialists to accomplish the needed maintenance and capital improvements including: Engineers,technicians,surveyors,draftsmen, <br /> heavy equipment operators,flaggers, mechanics,floodplain experts,traffic technicians, managers, accountants, planners and office assistants. <br /> Notes for 2026: <br /> The result of the previous large construction efforts,past maintenance,to address needed improvements to infrastructure, along with inflationary pressures will continue to <br /> impact the buying power of the road fund.Focus has been placed on maintenance of existing infrastructure as well as reevaluation of the 6-year transportation plan. <br /> (Continued next page) <br /> 1_I <br />
