Driveway classifications. <br />The following criteria shall be used for the classification and design of driveways in Kittitas <br />County: <br />1. Driveway approaches are broken into four general classifications: <br />a. Residential driveway approach, <br />b. Commercial driveway approach, <br />c. Temporary construction approach, <br />d. Agricultural access. <br />2. A residential driveway approach is classified into two types: <br />a. Single family residential driveway, <br />b. Shared residential driveway. <br />3. Single-family residential driveways serve no more than one single-family residences (primary <br />or accessory residences). <br />4. Shared residential driveways serve no more than four single -family residences (primary or <br />accessory residences). The shared residential driveway standard shall be used on the common <br />shared portion of a driveway. <br />5. A commercial approach is used for multifamily and commercial uses with approach traffic <br />volumes of more than forty or more vehicle trips per day. When multi-access points are <br />desired to serve one site then each driveway approach shall conform to the applicable use <br />criteria. See KC Standard Plans. Approved turnaround features shall be constructed per KCC <br />§ 12.04.04.090 and KC Standard Plan 5-6. <br />6. A temporary construction approach is used for access to a county or private road from a <br />construction site. Commercial approach design criteria shall be used with the addition of <br />measures for preventing mud and construction debris from being deposited on th e county <br />road. <br />7. An agricultural approach is used for access to a county or private road from unimproved <br />agricultural land. This access shall be designed and constructed to the same standard as single - <br />family residential driveways. <br />8. An access permit that is a prerequisite for a building permit will have an expiration that runs <br />concurrent with the building permit expiration. <br />9. Access approved through an access review during platting process will adhere to requirements <br />of road standards in place from date plat was recorded. <br />(Ord. 2023-010, 2023) <br />Exhibit D <br />7
