Roslyn Public Library
P.O. Box 451
Roslyn,WA 98941
Honorable Commissioners Osiadacz,Wright and Wachsmith:
The Roslyn Public Librarywill be celebrating the three-year anniversary in the newly remodeled location in a couple
of weeks. I am very proud of this beautiful space and of all the wonderful events that are happening here. We just
put up the second Art in the Library show featuring paintings by Catherine Cook and sculptures by Lynn Louise. It
is a beautiful exhibit and will be up until October 25th. I encourage you to come and see it!
Ongoing programs continue and include:
• Chess Club
■ Storytime and crafts for preschool children
• Thursday evening book club for adults
■ Lego Creation Club
• Watercolor class twice a month
• Third Friday poetry open mic night
• Dungeons and Dragons
• Stitching and crafts evenings
• Summer Reading Program in conjunction with Cle Elum Library including two offsite events with
attendance of 150 people
In addition to the above programs,we have hosted many one-time events including:
• Gardening classes taught by Kittitas County Master Gardeners
• New book launch evenings by local authors
• Talks by local healthcare providers
The Friends of the Roslyn Library continue to be very generous in their support for the library. They wilt continue
contributing$12,000 to the library next year to be used for books, digital content, supplies, programs and club
expenses.
We are very grateful for the county's ongoing support of the Roslyn Public Library and are requesting$32,000 for
2026. An additional$6000 will help support the costs of aLL the new programs in addition to a likely increase in
costs for Libby access and web support due to elimination of funding from the Washington State Library.
The statistics below indicate growth in the number of patron visits and use of Libby/Washington Anytime Library.
The pie-chart graph also shows growth in patron visits from outside of the Roslyn city limits. The Cle Elum total
(44%)is significantly increased due to unincorporated areas such as Suncadia.
Thankyou for your consideration,
Claudia Guilford
Roslyn Public Library
Libra rian(@ci.roslyn.wa.us
509-674-3105
