Page 1 of 2 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - _____ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE APPROVAL OF THE PAYMENT OF THE CLAIM <br />FOR DAMAGES PRESENTED BY JASON AND APRIL BELL AND AUTHORIZING <br />WASHINGTON COUNTIES RISK POOL TO ISSUE A WARRANT FOR SAID CLAIM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Claimants Jason and April Bell delivered their claim for damages to the <br />Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on September 26, 2025, providing facts supporting <br />their claim for damages with an estimate for damages to their vehicle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Prosecutor’s Office was immediately notified by the Kittitas Valley Event <br />Center Director, Kady Porterfield, who relayed the pertinent facts, stating that an <br />employee, in the scope of their duties with the County, caused a ladder to collide <br />with the Bells’ vehicle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Prosecutor’s Office reviewed all claim-related evidence and consulted with <br />the Department Head, Kady Porterfield, and mutually agreed that this claim <br />should be paid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Prosecutor’s Office received a vehicle damage repair estimate from the Bells <br />totaling $9,107.45 in property damages; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to approve the payment of this claim <br /> for damages, in the amount of $9,107.45, to Jason and April Bell. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas <br />County, Washington, hereby authorize payment of this claim for damages and authorizes the <br />Washington Counties Risk Pool to issue a warrant to the Bells in the amount of $9,107.45. <br /> <br />DATED this __________ day of ___________________, 2025, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br /> <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> __________________________________________ <br /> Chair <br /> <br /> __________________________________________ <br /> Vice-Chair <br />
