Parks and playgrounds. <br />"Parks and playgrounds" means sites designed or developed for recreational use including, but not <br />limited to playfields, picnic facilities, outdoor activity areas, trails, play structures, and facilities <br />for on-site maintenance. <br />(Ord. 2005-35, 2005; Ord. 2013-001, 2013; Ord. 2013-012, 2013) <br />§ 17.08.450. Planned unit development. <br />"Planned unit development" means a development that departs from strict compliance with the <br />zoning and subdivision standards in order to accomplish objectives that serve the public welfare <br />pursuant to standards in KCC Chapter 17.36. <br />(Ord. 83-Z-2 (part), 1983; Ord. 90-6 (part), 1990; Ord. 2005-35, 2005; Ord. 2013-001, 2013) <br />§ 17.08.455. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). <br />"Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)" means an electric vehicle that (1) contains an internal <br />combustion engine and also allows power to be delivered to drive wheels by an electric motor; <br />(2) charges its battery primarily by connecting to the grid or other off-board electrical source; (3) <br />may additionally be able to sustain battery charge using an on-board internal-combustion-driven <br />generator; and (4) has the ability to travel powered by electricity. <br />(Res. 83-10, 1983; Ord. 2011-013, 2011) <br />§ 17.08.456. Public facilities. <br />"Public facilities" means capital improvements and systems to support transportation, law <br />enforcement, fire protection, and recreation.
