Information Technology “Study Session Staff Report”, 5/27/2025
KITTITAS COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
STAFF REPORT FOR
STUDY SESSION

Information Technology

STUDY SESSION DATE: 5/27/2025

TOPIC: Discussion: Public Website and Intranet Update

ACTION REQUESTED: No Action - Information Only

LEAD STAFF: Zane Kinney

BRIEFING SUMMARY: This item is intended to be a regular monthly update to the
Board on our intranet modernization initiative and the public website replacement
project, the current work being done, and the progress to the present.

BACKGROUND:
In 2023 the Board directed IT to work on modernizing CAMAS. Since that time, IT has
developed a project plan, and progress has been made to reach our goals. IT has
determined that a key dependency to replacing CAMAS is that a new public website will
need to be developed. This briefing has been expanded to include information on this
project as well.
DISCUSSION:
• Funding sources for the public website have been determined. Informal bids have
been returned, and IT has selected their preferred vendor for the project.
• Replacing the public website is no small task and success with depend on early
planning, proper needs assessment and proper County staff involvement.
• CAMAS features currently being addressed are:
o District Financial Portal (nearly complete),
o Preliminary Site Analysis (in process),
o Purchasing & Vouchering (planning),
o Claim for Reduction of Assessment (in process),
o Telework Agreement (completed),
o Asset Management (in process).
FISCAL IMPACTS: Public Website project had money budgeted in the ET Fund. Public
Health is providing some finances through grant funding.

ATTACHMENTS: Scope of work - Public Website Replacement Project

Legal consultation? Yes. Contract Review
Finance consulted? Yes
