BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - Lgtp <br />A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE APPROVAL OF THE PAYMENT OF THE CLAIM <br />FOR DAMAGES FILED BY TASHA AND JESSE MAXWELL AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY AUDITOR TO ISSUE A WARRANT FOR SAID CLAIM <br />WHEREAS, Tasha and Jesse Maxwell filed a Claim for Damages with the Kittitas County <br />Auditor on July 8, 2025, claim number 202507080006, alleging that a Kittitas <br />Valley Event Center employee, while in the scope of their job duties, collided <br />with the rear of the Maxwell's vehicle with a County owned vehicle; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prosecutor's Office was immediately notified by the Kittitas Valley Event <br />Center Director, Kady Porterfield, who relayed the pertinent facts and who <br />instructed the employee to follow the collision checklist; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prosecutor's Office diligently reviewed all the claim evidence to determine <br />the facts as they related to duty, breach, causation, and damages; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prosecutor's Office verified damaged claimed by the Maxwell totaling <br />$9,800.74 with $2,632.00 in medicals and $7,168.74 in property damages; and <br />WHEREAS, the Claim's Administrator has authority to approve claims under $5,000.00, <br />per Resolution 2019-147 and this claim exceeds that authority; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to approve the payment of this claim <br />for damages, in the amount of $9,800.74, to Tasha and Jesse Maxwell. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas <br />County, Washington, hereby authorize payment of this claim for damages and authorizes the <br />Kittitas County Auditor to issue a warrant to the Maxwells in the amount of $9,800.74. <br />DATED this �� day of 2025, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />K O TY, WASHINGTON <br />C it <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
