BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - <br />AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE HUNTZINGER ROAD SAFETY <br />IMPROVEMENTS — PHASE 1 (CRP 318-23) AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME <br />WHEREAS: The call for sealed bids supporting the Huntzinger Road Safety Improvements — <br />Phase 1 was authorized by the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners on July <br />15, 2025; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works solicited bids in accordance with RCW <br />36.77.020 Contract Procedures; and <br />WHEREAS: Sealed bids were received and opened on August 7, 2025, at 10:00 am; and <br />WHEREAS: There were five (5) responsive bids received for review; and <br />WHEREAS: The lowest responsive bid was from Petersen Brothers Inc. in the amount of <br />$1,382,410.93; and <br />WHEREAS: The County Engineer recommends the lowest responsive bid be accepted; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners finds it in <br />the best interest of the County to award the Contract for the Huntzinger Road <br />Safety Improvements — Phase 1 to Petersen Brothers Inc; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director is authorized to sign contract <br />documents for said project. <br />DATED on this 19th day of August 2025, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Laura Osiadacz, Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Vice -Chairman <br />Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner <br />
