KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br /> AGENDA DATE: August 25, 2025 <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution accepting Federal Aviation <br /> Administration grant funds for the design phase of the Hangar <br /> Taxilane Complex project. <br /> BACKGROUND: An Airport Layout Plan(ALP) for Bowers Field was approved in <br /> 2018 by Resolution 2018-136. The ALP identifies existing facilities <br /> and future facilities at Bowers Field. One of the future facilities <br /> identified on the ALP is the development of a Hangar Taxilane <br /> Complex area located on current vacant lots H-3 and H-4. This <br /> taxilane project will allow for additional hangar space to be <br /> constructed and associated access to the active runway. <br /> The Federal Aviation Administration has noticed Public Works of <br /> available funds to design the hangar taxilane complex through grant <br /> number 3-53-0026-024-2025. <br /> The FAA grant is for $183,986.00 or 95%of the expected allowable <br /> design costs. A local match of$9,683 or 5%is required. Funds are <br /> currently budgeted in the Airport Fund(101). <br /> INTERACTION: Public Works <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Recommendation, approval of a resolution accepting Federal Aviation <br /> Administration grant funds for the design phase of the Hangar <br /> Taxilane Complex project. <br /> HANDLING: Return One original to Public Works <br /> ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Project Plan Sheet <br /> LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
