High Hazard Dams in Kittitas County <br />DSO classifies dams slightly differently than NlD. The DSO classification is initially determined using the <br />quantitative evaluation of the population at risk. Additionally, in some cases, a qualitative evaluation <br />includes severity of each deficiency at an individual dam, potential economic and environmental losses, <br />age of the dam, the adequacy warning systems, and the best professional judgement of the DSO <br />engineer assigned to the dam. Refer to the Hazard ExtenUlntensity section for further details on DSO's <br />classification. Table 4-33 lists the dams in Kittitas County with the DSO classification, as of May 2023. <br />There are six (6) dams that are considered high hazard dams, per the DSO's classification.s6 <br />Table 4-33.
