At stated in 44 CFR t 201.l{bL the purpose of mitigation planning is for state, lo€1, <br />snd lndian tribal govemment to identify the natural hazards lhat impacts thern, to identiry adions and aclivities to reduce any losses from lhose <br />hazards, and lo establish a coordinat€d process to implement the Plan, taking advantage of a wide range of r€5ources. Furth€rmore, the Plan <br />mtst be upd€ted and rfliew€d by the Washington Emergency Management Divisid end th€ Fedeml Emergen(y Manegement Agency (FEMA) <br />every five (5) years, <br />The United States Federal government requires local and state governments to have a FEMA-approved Hazard Mitigation Plan in order io qualifo <br />for hazard mitigation arsistance grant dollaR.
