2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan
Kittitas County, Washington
Table 5-3. Kittitas County Mitigation Actions Summary
The mitigation actions in Volume 1 and each jurisdiction's annex are organized as follows
. New Mitigation Actions: New actions identified during this plan development process.
. Ongoing Mitigation Actions: These ongoing actions were included in the previous update and
have yet to be completed. These actions have no definitive end. During this Plan update, the
ongoing mitigation actions were modified and/or amended, as needed, to better define the action.
o ln Progress/ln Work Mitigation Actions: These actions were included in the previous update
and are underway during this Plan update. These actions have not been completed.
. Gompleted Mitigation Actions: Completed actions since the previous plan iteration.
. Deferred/Delayed Mitigation Actions: Actions are deferred when risk cannot be validated, or
additional time is needed to validate the potential impacts and benefits of the action.
. Deleted/No Longer Needed Mitigation Actions: These actions are no longer relevant or
applicable because other mitigation actions addressed the mitigating need, or the hazard
vulnerability changed resulting in reduced risk.
5.3.1. Mitigation Action Plan
The Mitigation Action Plan helps prioritize mitigation initiatives according to a benefit cost analysis of the
proposed actions and their associated cost. Additionally, the Action Plan provides the framework for how
Ongoing 28
ln Progress/ln Work 2
2Not Started
Delayed/Deferred 0
Completed
New 15
0
Deleted/No Longer Needed
15Avalanche Landslide 16
2
19
Severe Weather
(Ertreme Heat, Extreme Cold, Severe Thunderstorm - Hail,
Strong Winds, Tornado)
19Dam and Levee Failure
15Drought17Volcanic Activity
19 Wildfire
(Wildfire Smoke)
20Earthquake
15Flood30Winter Weather
(lce Storm, Heavy Snow, Blizzard)
Other hazards of concern: Communicable Disease/Pandemic (2)
Status Mitigation Action Total
Mitigation Actions per Natural Hazard
Chapter 5: Mitigation Strategy 223
