2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan
Kittitas County, Washington
Table 4-82. Hazus 500-Year Flood Building Related Economic Loss Estimates
(Millions of Dollars)
Hazus estimates the number of households that are expected to be displaced from their homes due to
the flood incident and associated potential evacuation. Hazus also estimates the number of displaced
individuals that will require accommodations in temporary public shelters. The model estimates 1,195
households (3,584 people) will be displaced due to the flood. Displacement includes households
evacuated from within or very near to the inundated area. Of these, 178 people (out of a total population
of 44,271) will seek temporary shelter in public shelters.
4.6.5.7. FEMA NRI Expected Annua, Loss Estimates
A riverine flooding NRI EAL score, and rating represent a community's relative level of expected building,
population, and agriculture loss each year due to riverine flooding when compared to the rest of the
United States. The EAL score is positively associated to a community's risk; therefore, a higher EAL
score results in a higher Risk lndex score. Table 4-83 outlines the riverine flooding EAL for Kittitas
County.
Table 4-83. Riverine Flooding Expected Annual Loss (FEMA National Risk lndex)
4.6.5.8. Flooding Risk lndex Scores
The FEMA riverine flooding Risk lndex score and rating represent a community's relative risk for riverine
flooding when compared to the rest of the United States.
