MAIN ST <br />ELLENSBURG, WA 98926 (509)962-7831 1 1-800-637-2444 <br />May 15, 2025 <br />Kittitas County Lodging Tax Committee <br />205 W. 511 Ave <br />Ellensburg WA 98926 <br />Re: Lodging Tax Large Capital Project Funding <br />On behalf of the Ellensburg Rodeo Association, I am writing to indicate our strong support for <br />the Kittitas Valley Event Center Director's request for Lodging Tax funding for Large Capital <br />Projects for the Kittitas Valley Event Center & Ellensburg Rodeo Arena restoration project. For <br />the past decade the Ellensburg Rodeo has been working with the Kittitas County <br />Commissioners on the design and funding of a much needed grandstand renovation for the <br />Ellensburg Rodeo Arena at the Kittitas Valley Event Center. This project will replace sections of <br />the grandstands identified with deteriorating structural integrity, non -compliant ingress and <br />egress, ADA accessibility and seating, and replace existing outdated restroom with accessible <br />and sanitary restroom facilities. <br />The Event Center is the premier large entertainment venue in Kittitas County, playing host to a <br />wide variety of public events like concerts, festivals, and, most famously, the Ellensburg Rodeo. <br />More than 39,000 people attend the Ellensburg Rodeo annually, creating a significant financial <br />impact to our community. <br />This critical funding will supplement the existing funding commitments from the Ellensburg <br />Rodeo Association, City of Ellensburg, and Kittitas County. This investment in the community <br />will provide opportunities to not only our generation, but for many generations to come. <br />We strongly encourage you to support the Kittitas Valley Event Center Director's request for <br />Lodging Tax funding for Large Capital Projects. <br />Thank you for your consideration, <br />E�__Q <br />Carl Jensvo <br />President <br />
