Residents will receive time-sensitive messages wherever they
specify, such as your home, mobile or business phones, email address, text messages and more.
3.9.5. Recommended Expanded or Improved Capabilities
Kittitas County identified existing authorities, policies, programs, funding, and/or resources that could be
expanded and/or improved to support the implementation of the hazard mitigation initiatives identified in
this Plan (e.g., mitigation actions).

• Several Kittitas County staff are proficient utilizing GIS, but an expansion of GIS capabilities for
spatial data creation, dataset management, and spatial data analysis would help advance hazard
mitigation initiatives. Efforts to expand capabilities should be informed by an understanding of the
current roles and responsibilities within and across County departments, and of state and federally
managed datasets.
