WHOLE COMMUNITY <br />Kittitas County provided key stakeholders an opportunity to be involved in the planning process. This <br />included, but was not limited to, sharing information and input to inform the Plan’s content; assist with <br />targeted outreach and engagement, especially for the underserved communities; and review and provide <br />feedback on the Plan during the plan comment period. Stakeholders are individuals or groups that a <br />mitigation action or policy affects and involving them in the planning process helps obtain support for the <br />Plan and identify barriers to carry out hazard mitigation. <br /> <br />The following stakeholder types were provided with an opportunity to be part of the planning process. <br /> <br />• Local and regional agencies involved in hazard mitigation activities (e.g., public works, emergency <br />management, local floodplain administration, and GIS departments). <br />• Agencies that have the authority to regulate development (e.g., zoning, planning, community and <br />economic development departments, building officials, planning, commissions, and other elected <br />officials). <br />• Neighboring communities (e.g., Adjacent local governments, including special districts and tribes, <br />that are affected by similar hazard events. They also may share a mitigation action or project that <br />crosses jurisdictional boundaries). <br />• Businesses, academia, and other private interests (e.g., private utilities, chambers of commerce, <br />dam owners, local or regional educational centers within the jurisdiction, or major employers that <br />sustain community lifelines). <br />• Nonprofit organizations, including community-based organizations that work directly with and/or <br />provide support to underserved communities and socially vulnerable populations (e.g., faith- <br />based organizations, disability agencies or non-governmental organizations, rural support <br />agencies, health and social services departments, housing agencies, and housing advocacy <br />groups). <br /> <br />The stakeholders that were provided with an opportunity to participate in the planning process, including <br />review and feedback of the draft Plan, for the Kittitas County Hazard Mitigation Plan are listed below in <br />no particular order. <br /> <br />Local and Regional Agencies <br />KITTCOM (Kittitas County 9-1-1) Kittitas County Solid Waste <br />Kittitas County Coroner Kittitas Public Utility District <br />Kittitas County Emergency Management Kittitas Reclamation District <br />Kittitas County EMS Division Roslyn Fire Department <br />Kittitas County Fire Marshal’s Office Upper Kittitas County Medic One <br />Kittitas County Public Health Washington State Department of Transportation <br />Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office Yakama Nation Fisheries <br /> <br />Agencies that have Authority to Regulate Development <br />Kittitas County Community Development Services Kittitas County Public Works
