KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br /> AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> AGENDA DATE: July 28, 2025 <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an <br /> Interlocal Agreement between Kittitas County and Kittitas County <br /> Conservation District for Continuing Implementation of the Voluntary <br /> Stewardship Program <br /> BACKGROUND: In 2011, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners approved an <br /> ordinance electing to participate in the Voluntary Stewardship <br /> Program. This ordinance elected to have Kittitas County proceed with <br /> implementation of the requirements of the Voluntary Stewardship <br /> Program once the Washington State Legislature provides adequate <br /> funding for such activity. The Washington State Legislature has <br /> appropriated Voluntary Stewardship funds for the 2025-2027 budget <br /> for continued implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. <br /> Kittitas County's current Interlocal Agreement with Kittitas County <br /> Conservation District expired on June 30, 2025, and the current <br /> agreement will begin on July 1, 2025, and end on June 30, 2027. This <br /> will allow for continued implementation of the Voluntary <br /> Stewardship Program. <br /> The Washington State Conservation Commission provides funding <br /> for implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. A contract <br /> The Contract with the Washington State Conservation Commission <br /> for the Voluntary Stewardship Program has been previously <br /> approved. This interlocal is the final agreement for management of <br /> the program. <br /> INTERACTION: Community Development Services, Public Works, Kittitas County <br /> Conservation District <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an Interlocal <br /> Agreement between Kittitas County and Kittitas County Conservation <br /> District for Continuing Implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship <br /> Program. <br /> HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Community Development Services. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Interlocal Agreement <br /> LEAD STAFF: Jamey Ayling, Planning Manager <br />
