Goal 5:Seek to house everyone in a stable setting that meets their needs <br /> • Objective: Increase availability of permanent housing options and case <br /> management services <br /> • Strategies: <br /> o Develop additional units of affordable housing <br /> o Increase capacity of rental assistance programs <br /> o Implement Housing First models — prioritizing stable shelter to equip <br /> individuals to address root causes of housing stability. <br /> o Individualized services case management services, access to BH treatment, <br /> • Success Measures: <br /> o Decrease in number of unhoused individuals (source: PIT Count) <br /> o % Exits to Permanent Housing(Source: Commerce County Report Card) <br /> o Number of new AH units (source: reports from providers/developers) <br /> Will these strategies help accomplish the goal? <br /> • More specifics/expansion around affordable housing units—legal/policy <br /> implications. <br /> • Doesn't have to be single occupancy housing—ADUs, sober housing, shared <br /> Living, etc. <br /> • Add priority of policy coordination—funding incentives, regulation, etc. <br /> Regulatory environment that addresses those who don't want <br /> housing...legalized camping for example, dedicated areas. <br /> • Explore non traditional housing options—policy. Complete current projects in <br /> the hopper. <br /> Will we have leadership support for these strategies? <br /> • Need to discuss more... <br /> Are these strategies realistic and achievable? <br /> • Achievable, yes—goal is to increase. <br /> Are these measures appropriate? <br /> • Yes. Definition of unhoused vs. someone voluntarily unhoused. Unhoused vs. <br /> stable. <br />
