KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STAFF REPORT <br />Solid Waste <br />SPECIAL MEETING DATE: May 13, 2025 <br />TOPIC: Change Order No. 7 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Board's Signature on Change Order No. 7 <br />LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Director <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommend Boards Signature on Change Order Number 7 with <br />Belsaas and Smith Construction, Inc. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: We have completed the review of Change Order Proposals <br />(COP) #09B, COP #20, COP #25, COP #26, and COP #30. These proposals have been <br />incorporated into Change order No. 7 and are ready for the Board's signature. <br />BACKGROUND: On September 3, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />a resolution to award the bid for the Lower County Transfer Station to Belsaas and Smith <br />Construction, Inc. <br />DISCUSSION: Change Order Number 7 addresses the following issues: <br />COP #09: Changes to the exterior tunnel wall footing and increased pushwall height. <br />COP#20: Additional sewer lift station. <br />COP #25: The addition of stairs and an ADA ramp to the compost office. <br />COP #26: Changing from pressure assisted toilets to tank toilets. <br />COP #30: Adding a fence to the retaining walls and behind the transfer station pushwalls. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: Increase of $96,439.74 to the contract before Washington State <br />Sales Tax <br />ATTACHMENTS: Change Order No. 7, COP #09, COP #20, COP #25, COP #26, and <br />COP #30 <br />Legal consultation - No <br />Finance consulted - No <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Solid Waste "Special Meeting Staff Report", 2/21/2024 <br />
